Senior Solutions of America, Inc. is committed to providing you with the highest-quality information, products and services together with the highest level of integrity and security in our dealings with you. This Privacy Policy has been developed as a written extension of that commitment. It is designed to help you understand how we collect, use and safeguard all personal information that you give to us. This helps you make informed decisions when using our Web site. Our Privacy Policy is reviewed and adjusted as necessary to keep abreast of changes in technology, business practices, and our customers’ needs.

If you have questions or concerns regarding this statement, contact Mike Gamble at privacy@asourparentsgrowolder.com.

Information we collect

When you visit our Web site, you may provide us with two types of information: Personal and Web site use. Personal information is information about yourself as an individual that you knowingly choose to disclose to us. Web site use information is information that we collect on an aggregate basis as you and other visitors browse through our Web site.

1. Personal information that you knowingly provide:

  • If you wish to receive notification via email of updates to our Web site, you must provide us with your first name and email address. See “Choice and Opt-Out/Access” below.
  • If you wish to have full access to the information on our Web site, you must be a member. To become a member, you must first provide us with your first name and email address to receive complete information about how to become a member. Then, you must complete an order form on which you give us contact information (such as your true name, residential address, and email address) and financial information (such as credit card number, expiration date and billing address). We use this information for billing purposes and to fill your orders. If we have trouble processing an order, we will use this information to contact you. See “Choice and Opt-Out/Access” below.

2. Web site use information:

Like other commercial Web sites, we collect non-personally identifiable information on an aggregate basis about how visitors use our Web site using cookies and log files. See “Cookies” and “Log Files” below.

We use a third-party tracking service called Google Analytics that uses cookies to track this information. This information includes, but is not limited to, browser type, referring/entry/exit pages, pages viewed, operating system and monitor resolution. None of this information can be used to identify you as an individual. We have no control or access to these third party cookies.

How personal information that you knowingly provide is used

Notification of Updates via email

If you wish to receive notification via email of updates to our Web site, you must provide us with your first name and email address. See “Choice and Opt-Out/Access” below.

Membership

If you wish to have full access to the information on our Web site, you must be a member.

Special Offers and Upgrades

We will occasionally send you information via email about various products, services, and special offers in which we believe you may be interested. Out of respect for your privacy, we will provide you with a way to unsubscribe from these emails. See “Choice and Opt-Out/Access” below.

Customer Service

Based upon the personally identifiable information you provide to us, we will send you a welcoming email to verify that you wish to become a member. After you verify that you do wish to become a member, we will send you a second email that contains your user name and password.

We will also communicate with you in response to your inquiries, to provide the services you request, and to manage your account. We will communicate with you by email or telephone, in accordance with your wishes.

Support Group Bulletin Board

We use a third party service provider to provide the bulletin board service to our users. That company is prohibited from using our user’s personally identifiable information for any purpose including their own marketing purposes. Please note that their privacy policy governs the collection and use of all information collected in this Forum.

You do not have to include your email address or other personally identifiable information in order to post a message to our bulletin board. But, if you do include personally identifiable information in your post, you should be aware that it can be read, collected, or used by other people who visit our bulletin board to send you unsolicited messages. We are not responsible for the personally identifiable information you voluntarily choose to submit as part of your post to our bulletin board.

We receive an email that contains a complete copy of each posting to our Support Group Bulletin Board. This allows us to monitor postings so that, in our sole discretion, people who abuse their access privileges and/or postings that are offensive, can be removed promptly.

Email

If you correspond with us via email, the return email address will be used to answer your email. We may retain the content of your email messages to us along with your email address and our replies. We do not use the return email address for any other purpose. Email that you send to us, and that we send to you, is not secure correspondence. For that reason, we ask that you do not send confidential information such as credit card or account numbers to anyone through an unsecured email. We, our partners and/or affiliates, will NEVER ask you to send sensitive personal information such as credit card or Social Security numbers via email.

If you receive an email that appears to come from us, or one of our partners and/or affiliates, and the email asks you to confirm your credit card number, your Social Security number, or any other sensitive personal information via a return email, that email is a scam even if the email says that your product will not be delivered unless you provide the information.

NEVER update any sensitive personal information via an email. And, NEVER click on a link in an email that says it will take you to a secure page on a merchant’s Web site. Instead, ALWAYS go directly to the Web site of the merchant to whom you need to provide updated information. To do so, type the merchant’s Web site address into the address bar on your browser, or select the merchant from your saved Favorites in your browser. The merchant will then provide you with a secure page on which you can update your account information.

Information collected by third party affiliates

Via affiliate relationships, we offer our members products or services related to the subject matter of the pages on which the offers appear. These sales are conducted on third party sites. To provide you with a large selection of products and services related to elder care, including but not limited to, disability assistive devices, aids for daily living and related products and services, we have entered into affiliate relationships with a number of Internet merchants. When you purchase a product and/or service from one of our affiliated merchants, we do not collect any personal information from you. Instead, you will supply your personal information only to that merchant for the purpose of completing your purchase.

We carefully select only responsible product or service merchants that, to the best of our knowledge, provide privacy protections to their customers. However, we cannot make any representations about the practices and policies of those companies. Any matter concerning the use of your personal information when working with a merchant should be set forth in that merchant’s Privacy Policy. We have no liability for any act or omission committed by that merchant with regard to you or your personal information, or the product or service you purchased from that merchant. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of all third parties before providing them with any personally identifiable information.

If our partner and/or affiliate, as the case may be, encounters a problem when processing your order, your personal information will be used to contact you.

Cookies

From time-to-time, our business partners (e.g., tracking service) or third party affiliates will send your computer a cookie. A cookie is a very small text-only file that is stored on your computer. We have no control over or access to these cookies.

We use cookies on this Web site. We do not link the information stored in cookies to any personally identifiable information you submit while on our Web sites.

We use session ID cookies to track usage information that is accumulated in the aggregate. A session ID cookie expires when you close your browser.

Like most Web sites, we use the aggregate information provided by cookies to help us improve the content and performance of this site. To learn more about them, click here on cookies.

If you reject cookies, you will still be able to use all areas of this site. However, you may lose the ability to purchase products and/or services from our third party affiliate merchants.

This privacy statement covers the use of cookies by www.asourparentsgrowolder.com only, and does not cover the use of cookies by any third parties.

Log Files

As is true of most Web sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data.

We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer the site, to track users’ movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole.

We do not link this automatically-collected data to personally identifiable information.

Clear Gifs

The Internet merchants with whom we have affiliate relationships use a software technology called clear gifs that help us better manage the content of our Web site by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users between our Web site and our affiliates’ Web sites. In contrast to cookies that are stored on a user’s computer, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We do not tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our customers’ personally identifiable information.

How your information is protected

We utilize secure Web pages to collect your personal information related to your purchase of a product or service from us. Any matter concerning the use of your personal information when working with us is set forth in this Privacy Policy.

All of our affiliated merchants utilize secure Web pages to collect your personal information related to your purchase of a product or service from them. Once again, any matter concerning the use of your personal information when working with a merchant should be set forth in that merchant’s Privacy Policy. We have no liability for any act or omission committed by that merchant with regard to you or your personal information, or the product or service you purchased from that merchant.

Employee access, training and expectations. Our corporate values, ethical standards and practices are committed to the protection of customer information. In general, our business practices limit access by employees and reputable third-party vendors to confidential information, and limit the use and disclosure of such information to authorized persons, processes and transactions.

The security of your personal information is important to us. We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

If you have any questions about security on our Web site, you can send an email to us at privacy@asourparentsgrowolder.com.

Choice and Opt-Out/Access

We maintain two databases of personal information related to our members. Our first database contains the email addresses of every active member. Our second database contains the email addresses of everyone who at one time was a member, but later asked to terminate their membership and/or unsubscribe from our emails.

You may review and approve your email address we collected when you became a member. Upon request, we will remove that information from our database or change/correct it if you state that it is erroneous. However, you should understand that because our database contains only the email address you used to become a member, you must tell us that email address because we have no other means of identifying you. You may review, change or correct that email address by sending an email to email@asourparentsgrowolder.com.

Opt-out. Each email we send to members includes an “Unsubscribe Now” link at the bottom. If you elect to unsubscribe, your email address will permanently remain in our Unsubscribe database unless you send us an email from the exact email address that is in our Unsubscribe database, and ask that your email address be removed from our Unsubscribe database. Because our database contains only the email address you used to become a member, you must tell us that email address because we have no other means of identifying you. You may also unsubscribe by sending that email address to us in an email to unsubscribe@asourparentsgrowolder.com.

Information disclosure to outside parties

We may provide aggregate information about how visitors use our Web site to our affiliates or reputable third parties,. This information will not include credit card data or any other personal information.

Communication from the site

If you correspond with us via email, we may retain the content of your email messages along with your email address and our replies to you. You may not opt out of receiving our replies. In addition, if you have signed up to become a member, we will send you a confirmation email to affirm that you would like to become a member. See “Choice and Opt-Out/Access.” You may not opt-out of receiving this service related email.

Legally compelled disclosure of information

We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law, when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our legal rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our Web site, or on our owner.

Our commitment to children’s privacy

Protecting children’s privacy is especially important to us. It is our policy to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 and all other applicable laws.

Other Web sites linked to our Web site

For your convenience, we often include links to other Web sites on topics that may be of interest to users of our Web site. Because the other Web sites are not owned or controlled by us, we are not responsible for the privacy practices used by other Web sites linked to or from our Web site, nor are we responsible for the reliability of the information or content contained in those other Web sites. It is your responsibility to verify the information or content with your own medical, legal, financial or other trusted advisor.

When you use a link to go from our Web site to another Web site, our Privacy Policy is no longer in effect with respect to the other Web site. Your interaction with any other Web site, even if we have included a link to that Web site on our Web site, is governed solely by that Web site’s rules and policies. If we change our Privacy Policy, we will update it to keep you aware of any changes in how we collect, use and safeguard all personal information that you give to us, and under what circumstances we may disclose it.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.

We reserve the right to modify this privacy statement at any time, so please review it frequently. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here, by email, or by means of a notice on our home page
